Hi Robin!

Okay you probably either have neurofibromatosis or retroperitoneal fibromatosis. They are both the same but retro affects more the abdomen which. Either one are tumors made up of fiber caused by Epstein-Barr virus.

You should be on Acyclovir which is an antiviral drug and Neurontin for the pain. I would tell the doctor to prescribe those or if not change doctors. These are the latest drugs physicians have been prescribing where I live for this. Also, is it confirmed about if you have any type of malignant tumors? Somtimes but hardly ever Epstein-Barr virus can cause lymphoma.

You know something I tested positive for the antibody for Epstein-Barr virus but not the antigen which means that I don't have it but must have been exposed. I wonder if I could have been exposed through a blood transfusion when I had open-heart surgery or when I got stuck with a needle from a patient. I will never know but luckly all the other tests were completely negative.

I hope you feel better and keep me posted.

Take care.
