You may want to get checked for uteran cysts. They're common and usually not dangerous but I understand they can cause some irregular spotting and menstrual like pains at times outside the menstrual cycle. I hear it's also common to have a bit of spotting during ovulation, if this sounds like it might apply to your situation.
