I know several people that have had false results on their AFP tests. I know of false positives for Downs and tube defects. You have to remember that those tests only show that you have an increased risk, not that you have the defect. Try not to panic, because the false positive rates on that test are extremely high. Babycenter.com has a good article on the AFP (Multiple Marker) test. Good luck. (I've opted not to have the test b/c of the high FPos rate)
