:I am 51, always had trouble with my periods (7 days, heavy flow and cramps)....things seemed to simmer down when I started on BC pills in college....was on them for years, then went off...had no problem getting pregnant and I had a baby when I was 36.... a fibroid had grown during the pregnancy to the size of a grapefruit, and my son was born 5 weeks early (I had been confined to bed for 1 1/2 months before he was born)still at 6 lbs. 4 oz.! I continued on BC pills for years because of my dysmennorhea (spelling?)...the last few years especially I have had a lot of medical problems and I was diagnosed with IBS, hypothyroidism and my gyn. told me that he found "varicose-type veins" in my uterus which could have been causing some of my continuing cramping...for several months now I have been taking a BC pill daily, not allowing for a period which seemed to exacerbate things...recently went in for a papsmear and endo cells were found in my cervix...although I had read via the internet that a laproscopy is vital for diagnosi, my gyn. said a endo biopsy would suffice....I had it done immediately instead of waiting a few months which he said was an alternative....I have a LOT of acceptance of pain(having gone through childbirth, almost daily having cramps, etc., that I don't even get novacaine for dental fillings and crowns!!...but MY endo biopsy today was sooooo painful that I was clenching my teeth, clenching my hands, making groaning noises, etc....I thought I was going to die....it is 3 hours later and I can just feel a little cramping now (didn't take any meds)...now I wait until the report comes in....my gyn didn't talk about any treatments, he just said that it can lead to cancer!!! I hadn't read anything like that yet on the net..if anyone can give me any help, I'd appreciate it...I am confused at this point...thanks, Kate
I had an endo biopsy done today and it wasn't too bad. I didn't know they were going to do it until right before so I didn't have time to worry.
: There was alittle cramping and a pain that felt like alittle bee sting but that was all.
: They told me I might be light headed afterwards and I said I felt fine. About 5 minutes after sitting on the tabble talking to the doctor and got real light headed and had to lie down. So much for being super women. ha
: Anyway I guess everyone has a different pain tolerance. I had babies 10 and 11 lbs vaginally so most things are a piece of cake :)
: : sorry about the pain....im glad so far everything looks good though
