: i would be careful about eating peanuts and peanut butter. lots of research suggest eating nuts is linked with peanut allergies in children. I would recommend a glass of warm water with lemon juice in it, and a little bit of grated fresh ginger, when you first wake up. It really has been working for me. Also, doing some deep breathing before actually getting up - just gently, from your stomach. Finally, don't eat too much sugary food. for me it really does make it worse....but everyone is different! I am getting all my sugars from fruit or honey and not eating anything sugary.

Agreed with the ginger and deep breathing. Have to pashaw the nut theory. Your baby's allergies aren't going to come from that. I just find it hard for me to eat that stuff at this point.

I have to say this is my first pregnancy at age 32 and I have been confined to the bed with what I call "mourning" sickness. There's no "morning" to it. This is 24/7 for 25 days and counting. Ask your doc about Vitamin B6. This hasn't worked that well for me, but works wonders for some women. Also, I would try something dry on your tummy before you get up. Skip any liquids at first with this. Dry crackers help soak up what's going on in there. This is from personal experience and my job as a RN.

The BRAT diet works well too. Try Bananas, Rice, Apples and Toast. These are easy on the stomach. As much as I thought it wouldn't work for me...bananas stay down great. Another thing I've learned is drinking a tablespoon of cream right before you eat can help stave off nausea. Personally, I don't think I can do that, but chocolate milk has worked wonders.

Sounds as if you are still able to function. That's great. In order to keep doing that make sure you do the small, frequent meals as suggested in an earlier reply. We tell that to all of our pregos. :) As soon as that stomach starts to empty you start getting that sick feeling.

Good luck!!
