: I found this by searching via Google, looking for an answer to my almost identical symptoms, Abby!
: My period is 2 weeks late, my last one (at the right time) was very light and only lasted a couple of days. I have high BP too, I have to take tablets for it (I'm 45yrs old) and although its been stabilised for a while now, I know its gone high again this week because I recognise the usual symptoms of high BP, that I get.
: I too, am suffering from cramps, as if my ovaries are being squeezed and I keep going the loo expecting to find I have my period.
: On top of this, I feel nauseous at frequent times of day, not actually sick but you know that feeling... just 'ugh'.
: Do you think I should take a pg test? Think its possible I could indeed be pregnant although I'm old-ish??
: Good luck..

: : I am writing because I was supposed to get my period on the 3rd or 4th of January. My period has been very regular for the past several years. I have not been hungry at all, and my blood pressure is very high, was 190/140 pulse 118 yesterday. I always have high blood pressure, since grade-school, cause unknown, but not this bad. I have almost passed out 3 times in the last two days from standing for more than a few minutes at a time. I am very dizzy also. There is no explanation as to why my period would be this late or why my blood pressure is so bad, I have not been ill at all and am not under alot of stress. Life is actually pretty good right now. I took a hpt yesterday and it was negative, and repeated this morning with first a first morning sample, still negative. Any Ideas????? I also have an odd pain streching across my stomach just above my belly button its not a sharp pain just achy, and have had cramping on and off, but no spotting and no period. PLease let me know if you have any ideas. Thank You.
Hi. Your troubles could be any number of things. No, you're not too old to get pregnant...pregnancy test wouldn't hurt. You are also in the age range for menopause. This could be pre-menopause for you. Blood pressure may not be related since you have a previous history. I would check it out though. If you don't want to waste the money on a test just go in to your doctor. As we all know, even if you do a test at home they still have to do one at the office to put on you record!
