: I am very young, I am almost 18 years old and I dont know anyone who has been pregnant. I was adopted. I am scared and I go back to my docter in 2 weeks. But I dont know what questions I should ask or even where to begin. I need help.
Number 1: Try to relax. I know it's scary. I've been married 5 1/2 years and am 32. We just found out late December that I'm pregnant with our first child. It was an unexpected surprise. I am a registered nurse and I'm a little scared too.
Do you have a support system? Parents, father of baby? That's very important. You will be emotional during this time in your life and you'll need people to talk to that you can depend on.
I would recommend getting the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting". I have to say that some doctors automatically give it to their patients. I would wait until you see your doctor. Tell him/her about any insecurities, fears you may have. Trust them. They know what they're doing. Good luck! It sounds as if the other two people that replied will be helpful to you. You can add me to that email list too... dmhosea@hotmail.com
